What’s the difference between Thomas Kosmala fragrance “Made in England” vs “Made in France”?

How do I best preserve my Thomas Kosmala fragrance?

We recommend storing your Thomas Kosmala fragrances in a cool dark place to ensure their viability and longevity.  Customers often find their molecular fragrances enhance with time when stored for a few weeks correctly. Fragrances with a molecular base, like many of our formulations (No.4, No.10, No.11) can smell different in different locations because they are true 'skin fragrances' and will tend to change depending on the wearer, the weather or the environment.

With such molecular based fragrances,  individuals may experience nose-blindness, to the scent. That is , the olfactory experience of the brain tuning out the scent being worn.  You may find that after smelling the same fragrance for a while, you struggle to notice it.  Others however, will still notice it on you - and some time left without smelling the fragrance should reset your nose receptors to appreciate and enjoy it fully again.

An enhanced experience of the fragrance can be made by applying a non-scented moisturizer before the fragrance itself can help to enhance the projection and performance on the skin. Alternatively, the fragrance can also be experienced by spraying it on clothing rather than the skin.

What are the notes in No.10 Desir du Coeur?

No.10 is a molecular based fragrances that uses modern blending techniques and ingredients to unleash a fragrances that varies depending on the wearer; hence the reason why its notes aren’t mentioned.

It can evoke fresh notes of lemon and orange, along with mixed spicy facets. These molecular ingredients also bring to the forefront elements of patchouli, a heavy woody base, enveloped in an airy lightness: a true adventure of modern perfumery.

Have Thomas Kosmala fragrance formulas changed?

Since our launch in 2018 Thomas Kosmala has kept formulas almost entirely consistent.  The two instances where the formulas that changed in a vision to improve them are:

No.5 Frénésie: In the original formula the darker liquid contained heavy notes of oud enveloped by rich florals and thick resins. Thomas Kosmala took the depth of the beautiful foundation and updated it with a uplifting lightness to align to the feeling of Frénésie - a fun, joyful, easy-to-wear statement piece: perfect for daily wear or special occasions.

No.6 Brume Radieuse:  In the original formula No.6 radiated heavy smokey notes punctuated by powdery fruity facets. While maintaining its complex and intriguing identity, we updated it with fresh easy-to-wear layers,   replacing classic florals and softening its smokiness, with a modernity.  The added contemporary allure results in an improved mysterious enchanting blend of woody spices.

What is the difference between the Eau de Parfum and Elixir de Parfum versions of Thomas Kosmala No.4 and No.10?

Thomas Kosmala created the Elixir de Parfum collection to offer a varied experience and new interpretations within the worlds of Après l’Amour and Desir du Coeur.  With the top notes slightly muted and their base notes being brought to the forefront, they are not to be mistaken for “stronger versions” of their originals, but rather a different experience altogether:

In No.4 Elixir, the light, airy, citrusy top notes of the original fragrance take a back seat.  Molecular notes in the base are brought forward to add a heavier feel, with an added sweetness that brings a jasmine-almond like quality.

In No.10 Elixir, the heavy experience of the original is enhanced and intensified. Undeniably spicy with strong woody facets added throughout; the Elixir creates an experience that is difficult to describe, adding
